About the event
The "strong" black woman has to be the ugliest and most misleading title a person can give a black woman. It's a burden placed on black women that we all didn't ask for but were with pride. As we move past Q1 and continue into Q2, many women are starting to feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or burnout.
In this community talk, we've invited Lola Russell, LSCW-C, Clinical Therapist at Inspiring & Empowering Change, LLC to talk about burnout in women of color from a clinical standpoint.
Lola Russell is a licensed clinical therapist with 16 years of experience. She is the founder and CEO of Inspiring & Empowering Change, LLC, a private practice located in Baltimore, MD. In addition to seeing clients in her private practice, she also works with adults, children, families, couples, and groups across a variety of settings, including an educational institution, outpatient mental health clinicals, and nonprofits. She attended Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD, where she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and she attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Social Work, and obtained her Master of Social Work Degree. She is a licensed certified social worker clinical, and she attends yearly educational training to strengthen and broaden her skills and knowledge base.
